How active?
This is a family holiday, ideal for children aged somewhere between nine and 14 years old. The walking, cycling and canoeing are relatively strenuous, but fine for active children and adults. The excursions are planned to allow for plenty of rests and snacks, and days are usually split into activity and downtime, so you can still spend time together as a family. With two guides and two vehicles on hand we can provide a degree of flexibility for the group to split up if they wish. On rest days your guides are still at your disposal to help plan activities.
How comfortable?
Your stay in the Picos is divided between two charming, small hotels in twin/double rooms with en suite bathrooms. The first hotel is in a small coastal village. The second is in a spectacular valley in the heart of the mountains. We assume that both adults and children have their own rooms. If you have three children, triple rooms may be available, although these do tend to be crowded. In the evenings some dinners are included, but other evenings are free for you to head out to eat. Both hotels have good restaurants.

Not quite right?
Our Pyrenees Family Adventure holiday (p58) is another small group holiday. Staying in the Picos, you might like our more independent Picos Self Drive (p78) holiday, particularly if you have younger children. At the other end of the year, our Pyrenees Family Ski holiday (p60) might be of interest.
