Fly from UK to Chile via Madrid (evening flight from London to Madrid where you connect with a non-stop overnight flight to Santiago).
01 Nov | Santiago | Walking tour
Early morning arrival in Santiago. Xabi meets you at the airport to welcome you to Chile. Santiagos centre can be easily and safely explored on foot from your well-located 5* hotel. This afternoon take a gentle walking tour through the centre of the city in the company of Xabi. The city has some really wonderful restaurants, fish and seafood particularly being world class. (b)

02 Nov | Colchagua | Explore the cordillera
Set off on your journey through Chile today as you drive south towards the Colchagua Valley. Break your journey with a stop in the hot springs of Cauquenes, famous for their healing properties. Enjoy a hot soak in the charming 19th century surroundings before lunch. Complete your 150km journey to the pretty town of Santa Cruz late this afternoon. Stay in a small, very pretty hotel set amidst 250 hectares of vines. Before dinner you enjoy a full wine tasting with a local expert who is not only a producer himself but is also professor of oenology at the local university. Dinner is served in the lovely surroundings of your hotel. (b,l,d)
Today starts with a walk through the vineyards of the Montes estate producer of some of the highest quality wines in Chile. The walk lasts around 3 hours and takes you up to the Divisadero hill for views across the Colchagua Valley. Return to the vineyard to visit Chiles only feng shui bodega. The tour ends with a tasting which includes a couple of their premium Montes Alpha wines. After lunch at leisure in Santa Cruz, visit the stunning Lapostolle estate. The execution of this structure is striking as it is basically a large well, dug down into the granite hillside. The vertical structure keeps the wines at a perfect temperature and allows the winery to use only gravity to move the wines through the various stages of production. Return to the hotel for a relaxed evening. (b,d)
