he Massif du Jura has it all, breath-taking scenery of immense forests, waterfalls, rivers, lakes and hundreds of miles of mountain bike trails, ideal for those looking to improve their skills.

From here we explore the array of trails that wind through the surrounding valleys and pine forested mountains. Our biking takes us to Metabief and Mont d'Or at an elevation of 1,420m, affording us some fun biking as we whizz in and out of forests, across pastures and down speedy tracks, whilst to a backdrop of the impressive snowcapped Alps. Midway through our holiday we bike across the French-Swiss border to the beautiful Lac de Joux to explore some more exhilarating singletrack. Riding through sleepy lakeside villages, and grassy meadows we reach the summit of Mt Tendre (1700m), we conclude the week in style, and it's then all downhill to the lake!

Our first four days are at Cheux Neuve, a small village nestled in a peaceful part of the rural FrancheComte. Our accommodation is a lovely family run hotel that is a real home from home, and with breakfasts and dinners taken on the tranquil veranda of our accommodation, with only the sound of cow bells interrupting the silence, it really doesn't get much better.
