Slovenia - Julian Alps
uch talked about, Slovenia has emerged, as one of Europes must ride mountain bike areas, with the best trails and most stunning scenery found in its dramatic Julian Alps. Our riding explores the hidden trails of this area, to take us through the colourful alpine villages and remote shepherd settlements of these mighty mountains.

The routes are a combination of sweet singletrack, daring mulatieras (mountainside military roads) that cling to the mountainsides, forest tracks and windy mountain roads. During your riding, be prepared for breathtaking views of the Soca Valley, Triglav National Park, with the backdrop of the mighty Dolomites, and the Adriatic Sea to the west completing an impressive picture. Our first few days are based around the sublime setting of Bohinj Lake at the edge of Triglav National Park, from where we explore some top routes around Pokljuka and Uskovnica. Resting the legs for a day we take it easy, mid point of the trip and have the option to do a spot of white water rafting or canyoning close to Bohinj, or you can simply kickback with a beer by the lake. Moving bases we head to the charming town of Bovec on the beautiful Soca River for two days of top draw riding around Matajur and Kobarid. Well now be in the very heart of the Julian Alps and in one of the most beautiful alpine valleys in Europe. We finish our biking with a classic ride which begins in foothills of the Alps and ends amongst the lush vineyards of Goriska Brda, where a delicious meal in the castle of Brda and a spot of wine tasting are our just reward. With flights arriving and departing from the capital of Ljubljana, those who wish to extend their stay in Slovenia and spend time in this lovely city can do so easily.
