stria is the large Adriatic peninsula situated in the northwest of Croatia; a region with an ancient history, stunning coastline and rolling countryside of medieval hilltop towns and villages.

The riding here is ideal for the regular cyclist of a reasonable fitness, looking to explore a hidden corner of Europe. Our start point for this circular self guided tour is the Istrian village of Klostar, high above the Lim Fjord. Our route then leads us to Buje, from where we skirt the Slovenian border, through Moskat wine country before heading to the most beautiful town in Istria Motovun. Our hotel accommodation tonight is a real treat as we stay in a former Venetian palace in the heart of the town. Next day and our cycling is superb throughout as we head towards the former capital Pazin (famous for its castle and caves) before Grimalda greets us with it superb views of the Istrian peninsula.
