Choosing the right holiday Whatever your level of expertise and experience we believe that you should find something here to meet your requirements. Those that haven't ridden their bike for some time can choose one of our Grade 1 tours. All of our guided and supported tours are managed in such a way to allow our tour leaders to cater for a degree of different abilities and of course on most tours the support vehicle is never too far away should you need to rest. Our tours are graded to ensure our customers really enjoy their riding. These grades will help you choose a trip that suits your requirement in terms of level of biking and fitness. Generally an appropriate level of stamina is the key to an enjoyable ride. Those requiring a little more will certainly find their needs met on our higher graded trips. If you are not sure please give us a call and we can talk through your experience and requirements and advise what tours will match your needs. Guided, Supported or Self Guided? Within our cycling holiday range a large number of our tours outside the UK are Guided. Led by Skedaddle riding guides, a support vehicle meets up with the group at various points providing refreshments, lunch and assistance should you need it. Certain group tours are Supported, where although the group do not have a riding guide, a support vehicle meets the group at certain points with lunch and refreshment. Between pre-arranged meet up points you can set your own pace with the security of the vehicle close by to help out should you need assistance. Other tours in this brochure, including the majority of our UK and France holidays, are available Self Guided. After setting you and a friend or partner on your way with maps and directions, we transfer your luggage to your accommodation allowing you to enjoy the ride, and make as many photo stops as you wish. Should you need assistance we are just a phone call away. Cycling Holiday Tour Grades Our cycling holidays have been graded by using four basic categories. We calculate our grading based on distances covered, combined with route conditions (routes may include cycling on road or unmade tracks), climate and on the amount of altitude gained. They are intended as a guideline, to check your suitability for a specific tour, please feel free to contact us. Easy For the infrequent cyclist mainly on the flat with gentle slopes. Distances of between 15-25 miles/25-40 kms per day. Gentle For the leisure cyclist who exercises regularly. Will include some steeper cheeky climbs. Distances of between 20-30 miles/35-50 kms per day. Moderate For those who cycle regularly. Includes some steep climbs. Distances of between 25-50 miles/40-80 kms per day. Challenging For regular cyclists who are looking for longer distances of between 40 and 70 miles/ 65-120kms per day. Cycling Holidays Page 5
