The Hotels Milenij I & II consist of a wide variety of room types housed in two separate buildings near St Jakovs Park. Hotel Milenij I is made up of the original hotel building and a recently-built adjoining annexe. Royalty and assorted bigwigs from the nal days of the Austro-Hungarian Empire once stayed here - not too difcult to imagine when you consider the impressive staircases, marble pillars and elaborate stained-glass windows in the stairwells.. Hotel Milenij II is a newly refurbished, detached and more relaxed villa about 100 metres away, across the park, housing just 26 superior bedrooms.The breakfast room overlooks the park, and in the evening transforms into a restaurant specialising in fresh local dishes and original 19thcentury menus. In the hamlet of Ruzici, the aptly named Ruzic family have restored a delightful farmhouse, formerly the home of the owners fondly remembered mother, Rina. This traditional holiday retreat has exposed stone walls, beamed ceilings and a wood burning kamin in the kitchen.The living room features wooden oors and family knick-knacks collected over a generation or two. Upstairs (tall people need to mind their heads) is a spacious double bedroom, a smaller twin bedroom and modern shower room. Outside, a couple of chairs can be set out on the terrace to take in the rural views.The landscape offers rewarding walking country and even mountain biking. Exploring farther aeld, medieval Labin on the site of an Illyrian hill fort is only 9km away, while the pebbly bay at Rabac can be reached in about 20 minutes.There is a mini-market and restaurant in the village of Sv. Martin (also known as Martinski) 2km away, while the main east coast road linking Opatija with Pula is easily accessible. PROPERTY DETAILS
