An historic apartment in the heart of Bonifacio
If the ancient limestone cliffs of Bonifacio could talk, they might whisper to you stories of Laestrygonians hurling boulders down on to Ulysses eet, of Greek, Roman, Genoese, Aragonese and French marauders or of Boniface, Marquis of Tuscany, from whom the towns name is taken. Though not as ancient as the cliffs, this centrally-located apartment has seen some history of its own, for the Italian Salineri family lived here from around 1670 to 1750 and held important positions amongst the Bonifacio elite as vice consul of France, judges and priests. After the family left Corsica, the house was turned into a post ofce and remained as such until it was recently renovated into lovely apartments of which we are offering the third oor with delightful views over the cosmopolitan port.
The apartment is stylishly furnished with tiled oors, whitewashed walls, muted colours and comfortable soft furnishings.The double bedrooms wood-beamed ceilings are a beautiful, classic feature recalling the history of this building.
