A stone villa tucked away at the end of a bumpy track in the charming village of Yaka - a perfect base for exploring rural Turkey.
Wild Pistachio Villa is a spacious, stone built home sheltered by the peaceful hills of unspoilt Turkey, on the edge of Yaka village.There is a stream that trickles through this valley in the winter that leads eventually to the sea, however, every summer it gradually dries out leaving stubborn cacti and wild owers in its wake.This country villa sits amongst ancient trees, twisted by time and the elements, and the wild pistachio trees that give the villa its name. Surrounded by open countryside on one side and the gulley acting as a natural border on the other, the hills hiding the Lelegian ruins of Telmissus nearby give a privacy to this villa and its sister villas; the Villa Wild Thyme and the owners own cottage, which is set further back. Although recently built, the timeless stone exterior blends perfectly into the natural beauty of the environment, and seems totally at home, with fantastic views to be enjoyed from the pool area in front. The house itself is a wonderful mix of stone tiled oors, comfortable sofas, and locally handcrafted cabinets, designed to add to the light and airy feel of the villa.
The lovely pool area ensures the views can be enjoyed all day long, whether lazing around the pool after a refreshing swim, or enjoying a barbecue in the evening, carrying on way into the night with just the stars for company. During the day, the nearby hamlet of Yaka has a modest shop with basic provisions and fresh bread, and theres a substantial supermarket 5 kilometres away. Ortakents famous beach is 7 kilometres away, a long stretch of dark, coarse sand, fringed by tamarisk trees with lush mandarin groves set back from the beach.The south facing bay of Ortakent has ideal conditions for windsurng and other watersports.
