Don't miss& a visit to Pompeii. A city petrified in time from an eruption in AD 62, when Mount Vesuvius buried the town in 6m of pumice and ash. Serious excavation only began in 1748 and you can see buildings with surviving sculptures and paintings, graffiti still visible on walls and the casts of people who were literally turned to stone. Visit& the enchanting isle of Capri where you can shop til you drop. Designer labels and chic boutiques are in abundance so have your credit card to hand and fully charged. Taste& the mouth-watering cuisine. Delicious dishes revolve around fish plucked straight from the sea, virgin olive oil and crisp dry white wines.Try pesce spada, swordfish steak seasoned with lemon and oregano and don't miss thin and crispy margherita pizzas, which originated in Naples.The ones made along the Neapolitan Riviera are renowned for being the best in the world.
