BY AIR
We continue our policy of offering flights at civilised times of the day: we do not want your holiday spoilt by you unnecessarily getting up in the middle of the night. New last winter was our Gatwick to Chambery flight, due to the limited number of seats available and the costs of operating transfers this is only available to those staying in la Plagne for other resorts private transfers are available but are very expensive. Please note that meals are not provided on this flight. Our flights to Grenoble will be with First Choice, the flight to Chambery with Excel Airways. At both airports a representative of Ski Beat and the coaches will meet you for your transfer to resort. The anticipated schedules are as below (all timings are local). Baggage allowance: 20kg. Unfortunately we have had to introduce a charge of £15 for carriage of skis or snowboards, which must be paid in advance. This charge means that skis and snowboards are carried in addition to the 20kg baggage allowance. There is a £20 supplement for Gatwick to Chambery flights; £10 for Stansted to Grenoble and £25 for Manchester to Grenoble.
EUROSTAR TO PARIS & OVERNIGHT SLEEPER
This service allows you up to an extra two days skiing. You board the Eurostar at St Pancras International in London or Ebbsfleet and travel through the tunnel to Paris. In Paris you transfer to the sleeper train on an adjacent platform, for your onward journey to the Alps. A snow train representative travels with you from London to your station where you will be met by taxi or minibus. There is a £80 supplement over the normal flight cost (£120 for 09 & 16 February, 15, 22 & 29 March & 05 April). The provisional timetable (all timings are local) is below. Departures from the UK are each Friday evening and arrive back on the Sunday after your holiday. The couchette compartments sleep six (and are mixed), they are equipped with sheets, blankets and pillows. The departing guests may still be in the chalet when you arrive; we ask that you show them all due consideration. If they are still in the chalet you will be shown to a local restaurant for breakfast (at your own expense). We would point out that in a hotel it is likely that you would not be allowed in until noon, however we will find space for you to change and leave your luggage.Your hosts understand that you want to get the extra skiing and will assist as much as possible.
