The vast resort of la Plagne is part of one of the largest ski areas in the world with the Vanoise Express cable car connecting it to Les Arcs. This lift connects the two resorts via les Coches in la Plagne and Plan Peisey in Les Arcs, creating a combined ski area that is known as Paradiski. The Ski Beat chalets are situated in Plagne 1800, one of eleven villages that make up la Plagne. Here you can enjoy the advantages of a high altitude resort with the charm of a more traditional alpine village. Ski access to Plagne 1800 has now been made easier: there is a bridge in Plagne Centre allowing skiers safe and uninterrupted access by piste over the main road.
The resort is well known as a beginners' and intermediates' paradise with an abundance of easily accessible nursery slopes and miles of motorway pistes. The whole area is served by a massive inter-linking lift system with a network of snowmaking machines covering most of the lower slopes as well as many of the higher altitude pistes. The ski area is enormous in both vertical range and extent. The first stop on the breathtaking ride to the glacier is Roche de Mio (2700m), from where even inexperienced skiers can enjoy genuinely long runs home. Adventurous intermediates can ski the beautiful itinerary route to Les Bauches, and on to Les Arcs. Amongst the pine trees just below Plagne Centre is the self-contained village of Plagne 1800. It has its own ski schools, hire shops and a choice of restaurants. There are three bars in the village; for a bigger selection of après-ski there is a free bus service running between Plagne 1800, Plagne Centre and Plagne Bellecote until well past midnight.
