La Tania
Nestling in the heart of a pine forest, la Tania is one of the resorts in the vast ski area of the Trois Vallees. It is designed to be pedestrian friendly, but is also ideally situated for very easy ski access to both Courchevel and Méribel. The Trois Vallees needs little introduction as one of the world's greatest ski areas. It incorporates the resorts of Courchevel, Méribel and Val Thorens, and with 200 lifts, 600km of pistes and 1500 snow cannons, you can be assured of quality skiing throughout the season. In the Courchevel Valley there is a huge selection of skiing to suit every level of skier. Beginners have the use of a free drag lift on la Tania's nursery slopes, allowing them to learn basic techniques before graduating to the blue runs above the resort. For intermediates there are superb red runs from the top of Saulire, as well as the chance to explore further afield. At the end of the day you can return to la Tania by either taking the red run that winds down to the resort, the blue run "Les Folyeres", or the new green run which takes you down through the trees. Further snow cannons have recently been installed to ensure good snow back to the resort throughout the season. The Ski Beat chalets are tucked away in the pine trees above the village, which is a short walk away. All the chalets offer good quality accommodation and are very conveniently situated close to the pistes: you can ski back to within a few metres of each of them.There are a number of shops, bars and restaurants within the resort, and although nightlife is limited, live music can be found at the Ski Lodge Pub. La Tania offers a friendly, family atmosphere and has the rare benefit of being away from the main hustle of the bigger resorts whilst still maintaining excellent access to the slopes.
