HOLIDAY INFORMATION
RESORTS
In low season, resorts can be quiet with some facilities in limited supply, whereas in high season the resort is sure to be full, with facilities in full swing. However, there may be occasions where hoteliers or providers of services withdraw a facility temporarily or otherwise due to lack of demand, especially at the start and end of season. If you would like to visit particular attractions, we recommend that you check their availability in resort as they may have to close at short notice because of the weather or for routine maintenance. Public holidays in Florida - These are invariably very busy, so we recommend that you book your accommodation well in advance and get to the theme parks early if your holiday coincides with 26th May (Memorial Day), 4th July (Independence Day), 1st September (Labor Day) or 13th October (Columbus Day).
YOUR FINANCIAL PROTECTION
The Package Travel, Package Holidays and Package Tours Regulations 1992 require us to provide security for the monies that you pay for the package holidays booked from our brochure/website and for your repatriation in the event of our insolvency. Where your booking includes a flight, we provide this security by way of a bond held by the Civil Aviation Authority under ATOL number 1179. In the unlikely event of our insolvency, the CAA will ensure that you are not stranded abroad and will arrange to refund any money you have paid to us for an advance booking. For further information visit the ATOL website at www.atol.org.uk Where you book a package holiday from our brochure/website which does not include a flight, we provide security by way of a bond held by the Federation of Tour Operators (FTO).
LOCAL INFORMATION
Please note that areas surrounding your holiday accommodation do not form part of your package holiday and have not been inspected. These include for example the sea, beaches, roads and mountains. You are responsible for taking reasonable care for your own safety and the safety of your party. Local events, religious festivities and public holidays are likely to influence the provision of services and facilities within the hotels and around holiday resorts at certain times. Alcohol - Florida's liquor laws are strictly enforced. If you're under 21, or even look under 21, you cannot buy alcohol. Also, it is against the law to carry alcohol in the passenger area of the car, so always put alcohol in the boot.
TELEPHONE CALLS
To ensure we consistently deliver excellent customer service, telephone calls to Thomas Cook's UK offices are recorded.
YOUR FLIGHT
When booking your holiday with Style, we can offer a wide choice of flights at very competitive prices. Due to the range of different flight options we can offer, we include only brief flight details in our brochure, but you will find lots of information on our website or by asking your travel agent or calling us direct. Our preferred airline is Thomas Cook Airlines and below you will find some useful information about Thomas Cook Airlines along with some general information applicable to all flights available to book through Style. Please also read the important information about checking in for your flight.
SMOKING
Restrictive legislation against smoking in public places is becoming increasingly common in destinations worldwide. You may find that your hotel or areas within your hotel and holiday resort operate enforced smoking restrictions. Fines may be imposed for breaching regulations. To find out more visit the FCO website www.fco.gov.uk
CHARTER & SCHEDULED FLIGHTS
We are able to offer a choice of charter and scheduled flights (including no frills/low cost carriers). Charter flights are regular but generally not daily flights and are organised by tour operators, whereas Scheduled flights are based on pre-determined schedules set by airlines. Charter flights usually operate directly from the departure location to the destination without any intermediate stops so can be the quickest and cheapest way to reach your destination, usually these flights don't operate on a previously fixed schedule. A scheduled flight may have intermediate stops or require connecting flights and some scheduled airlines work in partnership with other airlines to give more choice and better onward connections.
DRIVING
Laws, licensing requirements and age limits vary throughout the world. We recommend you check with your travel agent, or the relevant embassy or consulate. Driving in Florida is very easy, with uncrowded roads, clear signposting and petrol stations everywhere. Petrol is about $2.40 a gallon and a supply of quarters is essential for paying road tolls. To avoid parking tickets, always park with your rear number plate on view to passing police cars.
