RESORTS CYPRUS ...ON VIEW C O R A L B AY Eleven kilometres and only a twenty minute bus ride from Paphos along the west coast is the seaside town of Coral Bay. This is a friendly resort with glorious blue-flag beaches whose soft sands are fringed by crystal clear water, overlooked by a craggy backdrop of cliffs and the distant Akamas Mountains. There are plenty of waterbased activities to enjoy, from windsurfing for all abilities to scuba diving, waterskiing and less strenuous pedalo hire and banana boat rides. The resort has a few shops, a bank and plenty of bars, cafés and restaurants, as well as a popular beachside taverna. Eight kilometres away, tiny Agios Georgious boasts a small offshore island, fascinating sea caves and a tempting fish taverna. Distance from airport approximately 30 kilometres. PEYIA Sprawling across a hillside just inland from Coral Bay is the friendly town of Peyia, perhaps the islands fastest growing resort thanks to its popularity with overseas visitors, many of whom have settled here. Not long ago Peyia was little more than a village with a church, a bakery and a couple of supermarkets, but today its a lively, bustling place with plenty of coffee shops and bars and a great choice of welcoming and tempting tavernas. Distance from airport approximately 32 kilometres. POLIS Surrounded by citrus groves and tobacco plantations and fringed by a blue-flag beach, Polis is a bustling little market town with a friendly atmosphere. On the openair terraces outside the tavernas around the pedestrianised town square, visitors and locals alike enjoy a range of mouthwatering regional specialities. Evening entertainment centres around eating out and a variety of bars, whilst the attractions of Paphos are an hours drive away. Distance from airport approximately 50 kilometres. AG H I A M A R I N A Seventeen kilometres along the coast road from Polis is the village of Aghia Marina; a peaceful place with a pretty church, a taverna and a bakery. Just outside the village is a small shingle beach and theres a supermarket nearby too. Distance from airport approximately 67 kilometres. L ATC H I Along the Akamis Peninsula in the more rural north west coast of Cyprus, Latchi is more a fishing hamlet than a resort, with a pretty harbour and some of the islands best fish restaurants. The village does have a couple of shops and bars, but no nightlife to speak of, all contributing to its tranquil charm. Close to Latchi are the famous Baths of Aphrodite and inland, a fragrant drive through orchards and olive groves to the charming villages of Makounta and Drouseia provides a pleasant day out. Distance from airport approximately 55 kilometres. for more information on resorts in Cyprus visit st y l e h o l i d a y s .c o.u k book your villa, flights, car hire & transfers visit www.styleholidays.co.uk or call 0844 800 7002 59
