CA L A' N P O R T E R With plenty of bars, an excellent choice of restaurants and late-night music bars, plus the popular disco at Caves of Xoroi. This is a resort for the young and the young at heart, not only because of it's lively weekend nightlife, but also because there are 191 steps down to the beach, hiding between towering cliffs. Distance from aiport approximately 10 kilometres. B I N I B E CA A R E A The narrow streets of Binibeca Vell are home to a handful of restaurants, several bars and cafes and a shop or two, whilst the seafront hamlet of Cala Torret has a few restaurants, a supermarket and a couple of bars. P U N TA P R I M A Punta Prima is an excellent resort for families and has one of the best beaches in Menorca, with soft white sand shelving gently into the clear sea. Distance from airport approximately 12 kilometres. SON BOU Home to the longest beach on the island, Son Bou has two centres; one at the entrance to the resort and the other two thirds of the way along, where Son Bou meets Torre Soli. Distance from airport approximately 18 kilometres. A R E N A L D ' E N CA S T E L L Amongst an attractive area of rocky headlands and distant hills, the pretty resort of Arenal d'en Castell lies above a crescent of yellow sand, reached by a number of steps or by a sloping road at one end of the bay. Distance from airport approximately 22 kilometres. CA L A G A L DA N A Said to have the most beautiful beach on the island, Cala Galdana is a selfcontained resort with a fine white sandy beach. Distance from airport approximately 34 kilometres. P L AYA S D E F O R N E L L S Playas de Fornells is a development with views of the sea and the surrounding hillsides, created with rest and relaxation in mind. The resort's focal point is the sandy beach, where the sailing club can be found, and a small number of restaurants and bars. Distance from airport approximately 37 kilometres. CA L A B L A N CA Split into two parts by the cala , or bay. On the south side are several small bars and shops and on the north side are the larger apartment complexes, two hotels, private villas and a wider selection of shops, bars and restaurants. Whilst there is a lively centre for nightlife, the resort in general has a relaxed atmosphere with tree-lined streets and a sun drenched beach. Distance from airport approximately 45-49 kilometres. CA L A' N B L A N E S Four kilometres from Ciutadella, Cala'n Blanes is one of the island's loveliest resorts, surrounded by beaches and rocky headlands with a gently shelving soft sandy beach. A variety of eating places ranges from fast food to traditional Spanish cuisine, whilst the resort's nightlife includes a number of music bars and nightclubs. Distance from airport approximately 48 kilometres. CA L A' N F O R CAT Just along the coast from Cala'n Blanes and neighbouring Los Delfines, Cala'n Forcat is home to some lovely villas and a bustling main street with a good selection of shops, bars and restaurants. Two small coves at one end of the resort are reached by steps down the cliffside and there's a larger sandy beach further along the coast. Distance from airport approximately 48 kilometres. CA L A' N B O S C H Cala'n Bosch is a modern resort built around a fine marina where the La Plaza' commercial area has lots of restaurants, a supermarket, a chemist, banks, boutiques and a scuba diving office (bluewaterscuba.co.uk). A variety of watersports from windsurfing and parascending to sailing and banana boat rides can be enjoyed less than a kilometre away on the sandy cove at Son Xoriguer.
