Tucked away in the tranquil western reaches of the Algarve, five kilometres beyond the historic coastal town of Lagos. Praia da Luz has grown from a tiny fishing community to a popular family resort with a soft, sandy beach at the foot of a rugged cliff. The Ocean Club is a splendid holiday village within easy reach of the beach as well as local restaurants and bars. It comprises several distinct areas, most with their own swimming pool surrounded by lawned gardens and paved terracing and served by a poolside snack bar. Also within the village are five tennis courts, with a pro-shop offering coaching, competitive tournaments and equipment hire. There's also a windsurfing school on the beach which provides great facilities for windsurfing, topper sailing, waterskiing and surf skiing. The school also offers three and five day courses, plus a Junior Day for youngsters aged eight to sixteen years who are confident in the sea.
