Airport parking Taking your own car to the airport is usually the most convenient and cost-effective way to start and finish your holiday. We recommend pre-booking your car parking with BCP, who offer secure parking at all the U.K.'s main airports. As well as parking BCP offer a variety of other services including a meet and greet service, a chauffeur drive express service and access to airport lounges, all at very competitive prices. SURCHARGES We reserve the right to surcharge - please refer to our Booking Conditions for details. PROMOTIONAL PUBLICATIONS On occasions, we may make special offers on holidays at properties which are featured in this brochure. These special offers may for example be made in a series of one-off or promotional publications. The special offer packages may not be identical to the packages featured in this brochure. For example, the special offer package may not include airport-resort transfers or children's club activities. The luggage allowance for special offer holidays will be 15kg per person. It is important to note that such special offers will not allow changes to be made to your booking once it has been confirmed. The deposits for special offer holidays will also be higher than stated in this brochure. For further details please contact your travel agent or us and also refer to terms and conditions that are contained in all special offer literature that is produced. VILLA HOLIDAYS Please note that for villa/townhouse and apartment bookings made up of two booking references or more we cannot guarantee that the villa/townhouses and apartments will be situated together and therefore we do not recommend sharing a vehicle. DRIVING IN FLORIDA Florida's roads are a pleasure to drive, generally wide and uncrowded. A car gives you total freedom to come and go as you please. Even if you're not planning to explore, a car is useful for getting around, and it means you won't be hanging around for public transport. Finding your way around Orlando by car is relatively simple as the roads are straight and all the attractions are well signposted. Here are a few more tips to help you when driving in Florida. * Don't forget they drive on the right. * Carry your driving license with you at all times in case you're stopped. * There are no roundabouts, but plenty of traffic lights at intersections. Unless signposted, you can turn right at a red light (after stopping and checking there is no traffic coming from your left). On a flashing red light, you can still turn right with caution. * You can overtake, or be over taken on the inside AND the outside so check your mirrors. Never overtake a yellow school bus if it has stopped and it's red lights are flashing! * The speed limit is generally lower than the UK (between 20-40 mph in cities and usually between 55-70 mph on rural highways). These limits are strictly monitored by the local police so beware! * Seat belts are compulsory in the front seats. Children up to age 6 years must be strapped into an approved car seat. * Drink driving should be avoided at all costs. If you need to carry alcohol, make sure it is in the trunk (boot). * Some of the major attractions have rather large car parks, so remember to write down the exact location. Most rental cars look alike after a long day sightseeing! CHILDREN'S HOLIDAYS CHILDREN'S CLUBS Our popular children's clubs provide a whole host of entertainment and activities for youngsters aged 4 - 10 years inclusive. The clubs operate for either two hours per day, five days a week or for two and a half hours, four days a week from 11th May - 4th September 2009 at Joinal Villas (page 151), Parque Monte Verde (page 154) and Villas Rufino (page 165) in the Algarve. The clubs are packed full of fun and games and each member receives a T' shirt, a sunhat and a bag. There's plenty to do including games, competitions, stories and lots of arts and crafts. For some activities there is a small charge. Children must be signed in and out of the club by a parent or guardian. We run a staff to child ratio of 1:8, therefore places are limited and subject to availability. A minimum of two children are required for each club to operate. INFANTS Flights are available for infants from £29 (from £60 to Florida), depending upon the route and date of departure booked. Costs for infants on scheduled flights and with no-frills airlines vary. Please check at time of booking. Infant prices apply provided children are under the age of two on the date of their return flight to the U.K. Any children booked as infants who are found to be over two on either their outbound or inbound flight will be refused boarding, as infants are not entitled to their own aircraft seat. Infants do not have their own baggage allowance. COTS, HIGHCHAIRS & CAR SEATS Cots and highchairs can be pre-booked and paid for before you travel at a cost of £20 per item, per week, except in Florida where they are payable locally at approximately $40 plus tax per item, per week. Cots supplied may be of the travel variety. Children aged up to and including three years (four years or under 41lbs in weight in Florida), must be secured in a child seat when travelling in a hire car. Child seats are suitable for children aged up to approximately four years (three years in the Algarve) depending on the size of the child and are not suitable for infants under approximately nine months. Child seats should be requested at time of booking. Further information and child seat prices are featured on our price panels on pages 292-312. Car booster seats for children aged up to approximately six years are pre-bookable in many destinations and in others must be requested at time of booking and paid for locally. Regulations regarding age and height restrictions for the use of booster seats vary according to destination. Please refer to the car hire price panels on pages 292312 for further information. Equipment provided will conform to European safety standards, where applicable. BEFORE YOU GO HEALTH PRECAUTIONS Health facilities, hygiene and disease risks vary worldwide. You should take health advice about your specific needs as early as possible. Sources of information include the following websites: www.fco.gov.uk, www.hpa.org.uk and www.nathnac.org.uk your General Practitioner or a specialist clinic. Whilst many Western European and North American destinations currently have no compulsory inoculation requirements, advice about destinations can change. Customers travelling to worldwide destinations are recommended to seek advice from the sources mentioned above and, where recommended, obtain vaccinations or tablets for protection against, for example: Malaria, Hepatitis A, Polio, Typhoid and Dengue Fever. In some cases, treatments for Malaria should begin well in advance of travel. Biting insects (including mosquitoes) are common in many countries, and they can spread disease. Insect repellents, especially those containing DEET, can be useful in helping to prevent bites. You can also reduce the risk of bites by wearing clothes that cover your skin, including your arms and legs, especially during the evening and at night. If you are visiting an European Union (EU) country you should obtain a European Health Insurance Card (EHIC) and take it with you when you travel. The EHIC can be obtained free of charge by completing an application form available from main Post Offices and from www.dh.gov.uk/travellers. Please note, the EHIC is in addition to Travel Insurance, not instead of it.
