Icelandic Northern Lights
Iceland 8 days Trip Code EXIC
Spectacular phenomena in dramatic landscapes
Our most popular trip; this tour will take you to the awesome beauty of northern Iceland with its snow covered volcanoes; ice encrusted waterfalls and bubbling geothermal springs. As the sun's activity increases early in the year you will be perfectly placed to witness nature's very own light show, the northern lights (also known as aurora borealis). Gaze at the night sky as dramatic colours and patterns cascade against a blanket of stars.
Insider's view
Being an enthusiast for the outdoors with a particular interest in volcanoes, Iceland has natural appeal and it is a very beautiful country, especially when fresh snowfall covers the ground. Our hotel at Lake Mývatn is an ideal base for walks and excursions around this extraordinary land, and a friendly and cosy place to return to at the end of the day. It is also an ideal viewing spot for the northern lights. I can also personally recommend a long soak in the gorgeously warm waters of the Mývatn nature baths - a superb way to relax!
