Back on the mainland at Sorrento you can visit Pompeii - buried and wonderfully preserved by the eruption of Vesuvius in AD79. Walk Pompeii's ancient streets, keeping out of the cart ruts, peer into the deserted houses and explore the massive public baths that were visited daily. Finally, take time to admire the ever-changing views across the bay with a choice of enjoyable day walks and activities from your delightful base in the hills above Sorrento, a working agriturismo (farm) where the kids will have great fun exploring!
