Spending New Year's Day dog sledding is a memory that will stay with me forever, as will the laughter everyone had, boarding down slopes on their bums! Trip Highlights perfect place for an invigorating week of winter activities. Arriving in Vienna, you'll travel north into Slovakia reach the mountain village of Zuberec/Habovka and your comfortable pension. Skiing or Snowboarding Around the village there are three slopes equipped with lifts and downhill pistes. These are the ideal places for either learning to ski or snowboard, or simply developing your skills. Snowshoeing Heading into the Rohace Mountains for a day's snowshoeing expedition, you set off along a prepared forest trail but if a glorious view or interesting diversion presents itself you have the freedom to get off the beaten track. Dog sledding You will have a go at handling your own dog sled, each pulled by a team of 2-6 dogs. The dogs are really excited as soon as they see the sleds coming out and are raring to go. Is it suitable for my family? Minimum age: 6 years. Although this is an active trip, a number of the activities can be tailored to the abilities and age of the group. Warm winter/ski clothing is essential.
