Created for you Brazil We have created for you a range of independent experiences that you mix and match as you like, so you can create a personalised holiday, just for you and your family. One of the great things about Brazil is the unbelievable variety of things to do. Hear chattering wildlife in the rainforest, be dazzled by ancient and modern cities, hike to heavenly beaches and feel the force of nature at enormous waterfalls. Brazilians love being outdoors, so wherever you go, there will be plenty to do and loads of great food and music to go with it. Ilha Grande: tropical island paradise You'll have to hike or take a boat if you want to reach the idyllic beaches like Lopes Mendes. But with sugar fine sand, crystal clear waters and waves that lap to shore, boy is it worth it. You'll be castaway on the paradise island of Ihla Grande off Brazil's Costa Verde, where the only other people live at Abraao and there are no roads outside the town. You can stay here as long as you like (you may want to stay here forever) but we recommend a minimum of three days. Salvador: northern Brazil's city of culture Brazil's African influenced north east is rich in culture and completely different to the south. Many say that this is the real Brazil where you can wander amidst colonial Portuguese architecture, listen to music and see capoeira performed on the street. Visit a local project to get closer to community life and experience the music and dance of this colourful city. Three days should be enough time to get a good feel for the city. Praia do Forte: beach & forest natural playground A short hop from Salvador, Praia do Forte is one of Brazil's best beach areas. Tropical forest tumbles down towards the ocean and there is a great local emphasis on preserving the environment. You can take your pick from 12 kilometres of untouched beaches, coconut palms, rivers, lagoons, colourful reefs and crystal-clear tide pools. You can stay here as long as you like but we recommend a minimum of three days. Rio de Janeiro: vibrant and beautiful city Visit `the most beautiful city in the world'. You'll chill out on spectacular beaches, make the trip up the cable car to Sugar Loaf Mountain and be amazed by the view. Or you'll take the funicular to Corcovado and the statue of Christ the Redeemer. If you can't make the Rio Carnival, kids will love the Cidade do Samba, which lets you into the colour and sound of the carnival all year round. We recommend a minimum of 3 days to see the city. Iguacu Falls: natural wonder Big, bold and brimming with exotic flora and fauna, this is Brazil as you've always imagined it. The falls stretch across 1.5km then plunge almost 100m into 274 cataracts, across the border with Argentina. Rich with wildlife dependent on the moisture from spray generated by the falls, a visit here is a truly tropical adventure. Include trips to both sides or splash out on an unforgettable helicopter ride for the best view around. Three days allows you to see both sides of the falls with some free time for additional activities. Amazon: unrivalled natural environment The lungs of the earth, home to one fifth of the world's fresh water, over 2,000 species of fish, 8,600 species of bird, 1,800 species of butterfly, 50,000 higher plant species as well as countless species of insect, the Amazon is Mother Nature herself. We recommend two or three nights at a lodge on the banks of the river with a night in Manaus, the regional capital. 132 Speak to a Travel Consultant about what you'd like to do and they'll create an adventure just for you
