Style of Travel
Transport & guides on your trip: Typically we use a minibus, usually air-conditioned, with ample room for our group. Your 4WD vehicle in Wadi Rum is a jeep that can seat three people. In the desert you'll be accompanied by an experienced driver from a nearby village, who knows the terrain well. Your accommodation: Hotels (6 nights), rest house possible multi share (1 night), camp (1 night) The hotels we use are comfortable three star en suite properties. The desert camp we usually use has a large open Bedouin-style tent for communal sitting and eating. Mattresses, pillows, blankets and sheets are all provided in your private tent. Dining out: Trip price includes: 8 breakfasts, 1 lunch & 3 dinners. For the majority of lunches and dinners you can choose from a wide range of local restaurants catering for all tastes and budgets. The food in the camp is a traditionally prepared Bedouin meal and in the guesthouse you'll eat from a freshly prepared buffet.

Trip length:
Amman, Jerash & Mt. Nebo
From the capital you'll head to the colonnaded streets and theatres of the nearby Roman ruins at Jerash. Your journey will take you south to Wadi Rum via the mosaics of Madaba and to experience the amazing views from Mt. Nebo from where Moses first surveyed `the promised land'.
9 Days
Special inclusion:
Star gazing in Wadi Rum
The night skies of Wadi Rum are clear and free of light pollution. Travel with a pair of binoculars and take full advantage of this ideal opportunity to take a closer look at the heavens from your `Bedouinstyle' camp in the desert.
Wadi Rum & Petra
You head into the desert by 4WD, passing the Mameluke Palace that so captivated Lawrence of Arabia. There's a good chance you'll experience the same sense of wonder as you spend a night in a Bedouin tent in the heart of the desert. From here your journey takes you to the spectacular ruins of Petra, former capital of the Nabataean civilisation, and on to the Dead Sea, the lowest point on Earth.
Comfort Level
Graded `gentle', so anyone in good health can take part in this journey. There is a reasonable amount of optional walking involved, graded `moderate', to explore the sites, especially in Petra. Be prepared for dry, dusty desert conditions.
