Trip length:
Granada & The Alhambra
Wander the atmospheric alleyways and plazas of Granada before visiting the extraordinarily well preserved Alhambra Palace. Perched overlooking the city, this beautiful array of sprawling decorative gardens and ornate Moorish buildings is breathtaking. Rising to the south of the city, the Sierra Nevada provides an amazing backdrop of snow-capped mountains for much of the year.
8 Days
Special inclusion:
The Alhambra
Soak up the history and beauty in the most romantic of European monuments. Tiled courtyards, stuccoed ceilings and cooling fountains reveal the spirit and art of Moorish Spain.
Alpujarras & Sierra Nevada
A series of day walks takes you into the heart of the Alpujarras. Passing through whitewashed villages and beautiful forests, explore the mountainous valleys below the high Sierra Nevada. The village of Trevelez allows access to the upper slopes of the Sierra Nevada for an easy potter up a tree-lined valley or a testing ascent of one of the nearby peaks - including Mulhacen (optional) the highest summit in mainland Spain.
Comfort Level
This is a week long walking holiday. Most of the walks are graded `moderate' although there will be the odd tougher section. Your baggage is transported by vehicle.
