Suggested itinerary Day 1 Overnight flight to Colombo Day2Katunayake Transfer to Katunayake with time to relax Day 3 Sigiriya Travel to Sigiriya, the cultural capital of Sri Lanka, stopping to visit a coconut processing plant. Day 4 Sigiriya Travel to Sigiriya through villages and on forest trails beside dry zone lakes. Climb to the summit of Lion Rock in the morning. Afternoon elephant back safari. Fact file Day6KnucklesMountainRange Travel to your camp in the Knuckles Mountain Range, passing remote villages. Anyone in good health should be able to take part in this busy itinerary. The trek in the Knuckles Mountain range is on rough tracks but takes only around 4 hours. Roads in Sri Lanka are narrow and quite often twisty, meaning some journeys can be longer than anticipated given the distance to be travelled.
