Tanzania is one of the most stable countries in Africa and has much to offer inquisitive travellers. Explore Africa's Great Rift Valley - a geographer's dream - and home to some of the oldest humanoid skeletons and fossils. Enter the Serengeti and Ngoronogoro NP and spot lion, leopard, elephant, rhino, cheetah, zebra, wildebeest and more. Camp in the open bush for a real experience of this great continent.

Suggested itinerary
Day 1 Depart London. Day 2 Arusha Arrive at Kilimajaro
International airport and transfer to Arusha. Explore the town in the afternoon. Day 3 Ngorongoro Cross the Great Rift Valley and the land of the Masai Mara to the Ngorongoro Crater, a large volcanic caldera. Explore the crater on a game drive. As night falls, camp on the rim. Day 4/5 Serengeti NP Journey to the Serengeti, stopping at Olduvai Gorge, where Dr Leaky discovered early humanoid fossils. Camp in the Serengeti NP, and discover the diverse wildlife on game drives. Day 6 Lake Manyara Lake Manyara is unusual with its lush forest, grassy floodplain, alkaline lake and acacia woodland. You'll explore the area on a game drive, where you may spot tree climbing lions and troops of baboons up to 100 strong! Day 7 Arusha Visit some craft markets and transfer back to Arusha Day 8 Fly Home On a school day, you will be able to visit the Arusha Children's Trust, an NGO offering poor rural communities easier access to education, health and environmental programmes. Day 9 Arrive UK

No physical difficulty involved so any healthy individual should be able to take part. When travelling in Tanzania, rough roads, limited facilities and camping may require you to adjust levels of expectation.
