Suggested itinerary Day 1 Istanbul Fly to Istanbul Airport and transfer to your hotel. This afternoon is free to walk around the old city Day 2 Istanbul A full day tour with a local guide, visiting the Blue Mosque, the Topkapi Palace and the Haghia Sophia. A boat trip up the Bosphorus can also be arranged (optional). Day 3 Gallipoli Drive to the Gallipoli Peninsular and visit the famous battlefields of WWI. Many British troops were involved in the two beachhead landings at Helles and Gaba Tepe. Day 4 Troy and Pergamon After breakfast, take the ferry across the Dardanelles to visit Troy Explore the ruins and develop an understanding of the layers of civilizations uncovered here. Then drive to Bergama to visit Pergamon, founded by Alexandra the Great, This afternoon you'll explore the ruins of the Acropolis and the Asclepion, dedicated to the god of healing. Stay at hotel in Izmir Day 5 Fly Home Fact file Anyone in good health should be able to participate in this trip.
