Kalahari Desert and Fish River Canyon
Crossing the Kalahari Desert you arrive at Fish River Canyon (see right), one of Africa's least visited wonders and yet comparable to Arizona's Grand Canyon. You have the chance to marvel at this immense natural feature by visiting the various viewpoints and exploring the canyon rim on foot.
Sossusvlei and Swakopmund Travel north to
Sossusvlei and the highest sand dunes in the world. The stark desert landscapes are full of photographic possibilities as you walk and learn about this amazing and fragile environment. You also visit the Sesriem Canyon before heading to coastal Swakopmund where you can relax or try some more adrenaline-fuelled activities.
Cape Cross and Etosha Pans You will drive the Skeleton Coast via the seal colony of Cape
Cross and the bushman paintings near Twyfelfontein before reaching the incredible Etosha NP An apparently . endless pan of silvery sand, this is a unique park where the game including elephant, zebra, wildebeest, leopard, lion, gemsbok and herds of springbok are often found congregated round the waterholes. Here you stay at both Namutoni and Okaukuejo, with its famous floodlit waterhole at which Black rhino are almost permanent residents.
