1 5 / 1 6 DAY S
Leaving Ushuaia and Cape Horn behind, you'll head south across the Drake Passage, escorted perhaps by petrels and albatrosses and passing an iceberg or two. You'll have the chance to step ashore (exact stops depending on weather conditions) on to a land of ice-capped mountains, crevassed glaciers and ice-filled fjords. The penguin rookeries are a noisy wildlife highlight on land while at sea you may spot seals, whales, birds and lower down the food chain krill. A stop at one of the former British scientific research stations provides historical interest; it will probably be the most isolated museum you'll ever visit! You return to Ushuaia via the Drake Passage, reluctantly leaving the icebergs behind.

For full immersion in the wonders of the Southern Atlantic and Antarctic regions join our grand voyage. The Falklands are an archipelago of over 400 islands with their immense wealth of sub-Antarctic wildlife, including massive flocks of seabirds, thousands of penguins and albatrosses. Further south is mountainous South Georgia with huge glaciers, scenic fjords and alpine peaks. There are huge colonies of King Penguins, fur seals and elephant seals and the sea bird life is immense. In addition to the natural wonders find out about the recent history of these remote islands including the Falklands War and the tales of Sir Ernest Shackleton.
