Regional Departures
The Adventure Company is able to offer departures from airports throughout the UK on most of our trips. Some airlines have an extensive route network from airports in the UK, direct to their "hub" in Europe or the USA. For example, on some of our trips to Latin America, you can fly directly from Manchester to Houston, then onward to the final destination rather than having to pay for an additional flight between Manchester and London. Similarly, KLM have an excellent network of flights between most UK airports and Amsterdam, connecting on to destinations in Africa, Asia and Latin America. These regional departures can often be purchased at no extra charge, or from £42 return, depending on the UK airport, airline and destination. Please see the relevant trip page for details, or ask our Travel Consultants for full details and prices.
VISA & VACCINATION REQUIREMENTS
Visas
Before travelling, you must possess a passport valid for at least 6 months from the end date of your trip. You also need to obtain whatever visas are necessary to enter or transit any country visited as part of your trip. Although we outline the current requirements in our brochure and dossiers, these are subject to change. You can use our recommended visa processing service (www.travcour.com) to obtain your visa(s). We stress that it is your responsibility to obtain any visas necessary for your chosen trip. The information given here is relevant only to clients travelling on The Adventure Company's trips. You should only apply for visas 4-6 weeks before departure, i.e. after you have received a final invoice from us. Please note that in certain cases visas and/or passports can take up to 28 days to obtain.

UK domestic connections to London
Where airlines do not have such networks from airports in the UK, we can often provide a connecting flight between your local airport and London, using the services of British Airways or British Midland. The cost of these flights depends on your destination, and the international airline being used for your trip, but prices start from as little as £90 return. Please ask our Travel Consultants for full details and prices.

Peace of mind
As UK domestic flights are booked in conjunction with the international airline, this gives you the flexibility not available with "low cost" airlines. If your international flight is subject to a schedule change, the UK flight will automatically be re-booked to connect (subject to availability at time of booking). Similarly, if your return international flight is delayed to such an extent that you miss your onward UK domestic connection, then your ticket will be valid for the next available flight. Regional and/or domestic connections are available from airports as shown on the map. Please bear in mind that not all carriers offer connecting flights from all of these cities, and the choice of local airports available depends on the carrier used for your particular trip. Please ask our Travel Consultants for full details.

Requirements and recommendations change periodically, so we strongly recommend you consult your nearest doctor, specialised travel clinic or hospital for tropical medicine to get accurate up-todate information. A guideline to current requirements is given in the table above.

Own Arrangements
Should you choose to make your own arrangements within the UK, we strongly advise you to allow plenty of time to check in before your international flight (a minimum of 3 hours for intercontinental flights, and 2 hours for european flights). We recommend that you allow a minimum of 2 hours connection between your domestic and international flights. Due to the possibility of changes or delays to international flight schedules, we also recommend that you avoid purchasing non-changeable or non-refundable tickets. Please note that a £25 administration charge per booking will be applied if you request international flights that differ from the normal group flights.
NOTE: If you are travelling on an indirect flight via the USA (e.g. if travelling to certain destinations in Latin America) you must have a machine-readable passport or a visa will be required for transiting the US. Your passport is machine readable (with a digital scanned in photograph) if the foot of the personal information page bears two lines of text as letters, numbers and chevrons (>>>>). From 26 October 2006, all UK passports issued on or after that date will have to include biometric data.
