Rafting down the Pacuare River and into the rainforest provides great excitement. You'll visit one of the most beautiful beaches in Costa Rica - complete with a fringe of palm trees. A series of walking trails through the rainforest provides an opportunity to view and learn about the flora and fauna. Day 7/8 Tortuguero You'll navigate the waterways of Tortuguero to your riverbank lodge set amidst lush rainforest. From here you will go in search of wildife. Manoeuvring our small boats the guide brought us close to caiman, turtles and many different species of birds. We watched above our heads as a troop of capuchins launched themselves from tree to tree. Elsewhere in Costa Rica we saw toucans, macaws, hummingbirds, sloths and many beautiful butterflies including the iridescent blue morphos.
