This trip offers exciting and challenging treks to Tanzania's two highest peaks. Venturing off the beaten track, the route up the extinct volcanic cone of Mt. Meru (4,566m) is both scenic and dramatic, and is perfect for acclimatisation before you summit the much higher Kilimanjaro (5,895m). You'll follow the Machame route, considered one of the most beautiful, to the snow-capped summit.

Itinerary
Day 1/2 Overnight flight to Arusha. Day 3 Miriakamba Hut Transfer to
Mostly climbing, apart from your descent to Barranco. (3,950m). The route then crosses scree beneath glaciers on the way to Barafu Camp (4,600m). Day 11/12 Summit, Arusha Final ascent to Uhuru (Freedom Peak, 5,895m) for dawn and return to Mweka Camp (3,100m). The next day, trek to Mweka village and drive to Arusha. Day 13/14 Fly home.

Momella Gate in Arusha NP and trek up Mt. Meru walking through forest. It is a moderate 4-5 hours hiking to get you into the pace. Day 4 Saddle Hut The morning's hike takes you up to Elephant Ridge and you get a sneak preview of Little Meru.

the summit for sunrise over Kilimanjaro. Transfer back to Arusha for a short rest before moving on to Mt. Kilimanjaro.
