This is your chance to conquer North Africa's highest peak in winter. Climbing at this time of year adds a new dimension to walking in the Atlas Mountains and the views of the Sahara amidst snow are simply spectacular. There is plenty of time to acclimatise and practise using your ice axes and crampons. With demanding terrain, stunning mountain scenery and a unique view of the Atlas in winter, this is a popular and exciting trek.

Itinerary
Day 1 Fly to Marrakech. Day 2 Aremd After a morning in exotic
mountain Jebel Ouanakrim (4,088m). The guide will decide on the day which you will climb pending the weather conditions. Both offer stunning views across Morocco and the Sahara. Day 6 Aremd Depending on conditions, there are opportunities for more walks in the scenic mountains before descending to Aremd. Day 7 Marrakech Drive to Marrakech, with free time to explore this colourful city. Day 8 Fly home.
Essentials
Experience of winter walking and crampon/ice axe use is useful but not essential. Previous trekking experience is critical as the hiking is strenuous. Mules and porters carry main luggage. Activities Walking, trekking, discover natural wonders, explore markets, explore local villages Transport Minibus, on foot Accommodation Hotel (2nts), refuge (3nts), gite (2nts). The gites have simple dormitories, the refuge is basic. Showers may be available but at an additional charge. Meals included 7 breakfasts, 5 lunches & 5 dinners

Marrakech, you'll head into the mountains and onto the trails. The change in scenery today is as dramatic as it is beautiful. The first orientation walk will be around the village of Aremd. Day 3 Acclimatisation walks From Aremd walk to Neltner (3,200m), your base for the next few days. On your way up you'll cross the snow line and don your crampons for the first time. In the afternoon your guides will run through some winter alpine walking techniques on the slopes. Day 4/5 Summit day From Neltner, you'll walk for the next two days to summit either Jebel Toubkal (4,167m), North Africa's highest peak, or her sister
