You can take cable car rides to mountain lakes, enjoy a traditional raft journey, cycle into Poland and trek into the heart of the High Tatras on an exhilarating mountain hike. Essentials This is a varied trip for those interested in both activity and culture. Most activities are gentle but a twoday trek (4-5 hours) is included and a reasonable level of fitness is therefore required. Itinerary
Day 1 Fly to Prague, transfer to hotel. Day 2 Prague After a full day discovering a wealth of sights in this beautifully preserved city, take the overnight train to Slovakia. Day 3 Zdiar This afternoon you take a short walk to one of Slovakia's biggest waterfalls. Day 4 Cable car A cable car takes you to Skalnate Pleso (lake), from where you'll walk back down and visit nearby thermal pools. Day 5 Activities Today you'll enjoy a traditional raft journey on the Dunajec River before cycling into Poland. During afternoon tea with a local family, you can learn about the Slovak way of life. Day 6 Caves & castles Visit Spissky Hrad, thought to be the largest castle in central Europe, and Dobsinska Ice Cave. Day 7/8 High Tatra You'll take an overnight trek into the heart of the High Tatra to Velke Hincovo Pleso the largest lake in the Tatra. You'll stay in a mountain chalet originally built in the 19th Century for the country's pioneering climbers and mountaineers.
Day 9 Relax Free for optional activities, including visiting Bellianska Cave or cycling in the surrounding areas, before transferring to the station for the overnight train to Prague. Day 10 Fly to London.
