You may also enjoy a tour of the active volcanoes in the 'Valley of 10,000 Smokes' tour. Alaskan Wilderness Adventure 15 days London to London Day 1. Depart London Day 9. Kenai Fjords [B, L, D] Today you embark on a voyage into Kenai Fjords aboard a private yacht where you may see seals, otters, sealions, whales and of course towering glaciers. Return to Seward and Breeze Inn for the night. Day 10. Anchorage [B] Visit Exit Glacier en-route to Anchorage, travelling along one of the most scenic drives in the area! Return for a night at the Westmark Hotel in Anchorage. Days 11 & 12. Brooks Falls, Katmai National Park [B, Day 6. Anchorage [B] Return by floatplane to King Salmon for your onward flight to Anchorage and the Copper Whale Inn. Depart London for Vancouver arriving in the evening where you spend the night at the Fairmont Airport Hotel. Day 2. Fairbanks [B] Days 7 to 10. Kodiak Island [B, L & D] Fly from Anchorage to Kodiak Island, the largest island in the Gulf of Alaska. You spend four nights at the luxury Zachar Bay Lodge set in a picturesque wilderness rich with Brown Bears, Sea Otters, whales, seals and sealions. Full day guided trips from the lodge offer you the opportunity to view and experience wildlife in its natural environment with a minimum disturbance to the animals and their habitat. The Kodiak Brown Bear is one of the largest carnivores on earth and over 3,000 bears make their home throughout the Kodiak National Wildlife Refuge. It is also an important staging area for seabirds and wintering wildfowl whose combined populations number well over a million birds. Summer lures many migrant birds to nest and feed upon the plentiful supply of food. 237 species of bird have been recorded in the Kodiak archipelago. Day 11. Anchorage [B] Return to Anchorage for your final night at the Copper Whale Inn. Day 12 & 13. Homeward [B] Today make your way to the airport for your return flight to the UK, via Vancouver, where you arrive the next day. Today you fly on to Fairbanks for a night at Pikes Waterfront Lodge. Days 3 to 5. Denali National Park [B, L, D] Depart by road to Denali National Park and Kantishna Roadhouse, one of only three lodges situated within the park boundary. Activities on offer include wildlifeviewing, hiking and biking. Brown Bears, Moose and Caribou are often seen. Denali National Park is wellknown for its wildlife, although the wildlife encounters are usually fleeting. Home to Mount McKinley, the highest mountain in North America, the park also provides stunning scenery and a wildlerness experience not to be missed! Spend three nights at Kantishna Roadhouse. Day 6. Talkeetna Depart Denali by train, enjoying some stunning scenery along the way. On arrival transfer to a cozy lodge in Talkeetna and explore this frontier town. Days 7 & 8. Alyeska/Fox Island [B, L, D] Transfer to Alyeska Resort Hotel for a 1-night stay and explore the spectacular glacier valley and enjoy the scenic views and wildlife. Early the next morning, drive along the Seward Highway to Seward. Look out for Mountain Sheep, Moose, Bald Eagles and of course the striking mountain scenery en-route. From Seward catch the boat to Fox Island for a 1-night stay at the wilderness lodge tucked into the trees within Resurrection Bay. The accommodation here consists of cabins for eighteen guests, each with private facilities but no electricity. Kayaking and wildlife-viewing on foot is on offer. Anchorage [B] Return to Anchorage where you spend your final night at the Copper Whale Inn. Day 14. Homeward [B] Make your way to the airport for your homeward flight. Day 15.
