Jamaica Thoughts of Jamaica ooze with rum and spice, and make you want to move to a reggae rhythm. From swimming with dolphins at Dolphin Cove, climbing through cascading waters at Dunns River falls, taking a bus ride through the Blue Mountains or cruising the Martha Brae River on a bamboo raft, Jamaicas natural landscape cant fail to impress. Relax and kick back on Negrils white sands and watch the sun set in stunning fashion. Sample jerk chicken and local rum from a beachfront restaurant before dancing to live reggae into the night. Kingston, the islands capital and cultural centre is the true home of reggae, and certainly shouldnt be missed. Negril Negril has a lovely, laid back atmosphere and seven miles of gorgeous white sands. The smart hotels are widely spaced, giving the area an almost rural feel, and the Watershed Environmental Protection Area is the first protected wilderness zone in Jamaica. The west end of the resort is perched on top of the cliffs, overlooking the sea. Above all, Negril is the place where watersports are the number one activity and reggae is king. There are numerous live music venues and the cliff dives at Ricks Café are a must see. Transfer from airport: approx. 1hr 15mins Montego Bay Montego Bay is Jamaicas most important town after Kingston, and one of the islands earliest settlements. Once the centre of the sugar and banana industries, it is now a thriving port city with lively nightlife and shops and markets packed with bargains. The resort stretches along 24km of coastline, interspersed with sandy coves and backed by hillsides covered with sugar cane and banana plantations. Enjoy beach life by day the most popular beaches are Doctors Cave and Walter Fletcher Beach, both with watersports. At night, head to the bars and clubs for jazz and reggae music.
