Historic. Majestic. Marvellous. Magical. Venice is a masterpiece of human spirit and ingenuity. The sights of Venice need little introduction. A short boat ride from our parc at Punta Sabbioni will take you to the Bridge of Sighs, The Doges Palace, St Marks Square and the bell Tower of San Marco cathedral. From this collection of tiny islands a mighty republic spread its wings and marked its place in history with unique creations of art and architecture. In particular, Venetian artisans were the first to master the art of glass blowing and their skills have remained a priceless commodity ever since. Conversation is also an art form. Walk along the open cafes and you'll see intense, animated discussions on all sorts of subjects. But remember: Italians don't casually talk religion, politics or personal stuff. So stick to culture, art, films, food, wine and football.
In fact, wherever you roam, youll soon discover a warm and welcoming people who enjoy sharing the pleasures of life with others. Theres a genuine passion for life unmatched anywhere else in the world. Its an infectious, charming attitude, perhaps best summed up by the expression: "Una giornata senza riso è una giornata sprecata." "A day without laughter is a wasted day." But although the Adriatic Coast is most famous for Venice the living Cabalettas of palaces and piazzas it also offers some wonderful beaches. In particular, the long and gently sloping beaches of Lido de Jesolo are perfect for children.
