Day 1 Luang Prabang Day at leisure. Overnight Maison Souvannaphoum Day 2 - Pak Ou Caves Travel on a long tailed boat on the Mekong River and visit the mysterious Pak Ou Caves in the side of a limestone cliff. These caves contain thousands of Buddha images. Journey back via typical Laotian villages and see wood paper making and silk weavings all using natural dyes. Overnight Maison Souvannaphoum. (B, L) Day 3 Luang Prabang/ Vientiane Spend the morning in the first ancient capital of Lane Xing kingdom, the centre of religious life in Laos and now a World Heritage City. Visit the National Museum and some of the many temples of this beautiful city. In the afternoon fly on to Vientiane. Overnight Green Park Hotel. (B) Day 4 Vientiane/ Hanoi Spend the morning discovering the many sights of one of Asias most laid back cities. Visit Wat Sikaset with over 8000 Buddha statues, and Patouxay (Lao Arc de Triomphe) a monument to those who died during the wars of the past. In the afternoon fly to Hanoi. Overnight Sunway Hotel (B) Day 5 Hanoi A full day discovering the charming capital city, Hanoi. Visit the Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum, the Temple of Literature, the Museum of Ethnology and the Don Xuan market giving you a great overview of the areas history and culture. In the evening attend a traditional water puppet show. Overnight Sunway Hotel (B) Day 6 Hanoi/ Ha Long Today drive from Hanoi to the beautiful Ha Long Bay and check in to your junk boat with a welcome glass of wine with lunch. Spend the afternoon cruising around the picturesque islands, and stop off for a swim at Titov Beach. Overnight Hai Long junk boat (private cabin). (B,L,D) Day 7 Ha Long/ Hanoi/ Hue Set your alarm this morning to watch the amazing sunrise over the bay. Take a cruise to Bai Tho Mountain before heading back to dock. In the afternoon drive back to Hanoi passing through Phu Long to observe the age old trade of ceramic production. Arrive in Hanoi for the evening flight to Hue. Overnight Pilgrimage Village. (B) Day 8 Hue/ Da Nang/ Hoi An Today you will experience a dragon boat ride on Perfume River to visit Thien Mu Pagoda, the most preserved religious monument of the former imperial city of Hue, before departing for Hoi An via Da Nang on a breathtaking drive. Overnight Ancient House Hotel. (B,L,D) Day 9 Hoi An Enjoy a walking tour today around the narrow streets of Hoi An, visiting former merchants houses, Phuc Kien Pagoda (a 400 year old Japanese covered bridge), and the local market. Overnight Ancient House Hotel. (B) Day 10 Hoi An/ Da Nang/ Saigon Today fly from Da Nang to Saigon and experience the bustling city life in contrast to the rural experiences of the last few days. For dinner enjoy a typical Indochine restaurant with traditional music. Overnight Duxton Hotel. (B,D) Day 11 My Tho/ Saigon/ Siem Reap Today sees a visit to the Mekong Delta, via numerous paddy fields and river tributaries. Board a private boat and gain a taste of the agricultural life on the upper part of the Mekong River. Upon arrival at Ben Truc Phong Phu you will have an opportunity to interact with the local people whose livelihood is dependent on the river. Travel back down the river, disembark and head back to Saigon to take a flight to the ancient Cambodian city of Siem Reap. Overnight Prince DAngkor. (B,L) Day 12 Siem Reap Start the day by exploring the Royal city of Angkor Thom, before venturing on to the famous Khmer ruins of Angkor Wat. Overnight Prince DAngkor. (B,L) Day 13 Siem Reap Most of the temples of Angkor were completely engulfed by the surrounding jungle, and this is particularly evident at the picturesque Ta Phrom, where roots and branches weave their way around the remains. In the afternoon is a trip to Bantay Srei the birthplace of Khmer classical architecture. Overnight Prince DAngkor. (B,L)
