And it's kneedeep in history, too - every town has a story to tell. From Olympic flames to Jason and the Argonauts, you'll learn about them all on this Hellenic cruise. Sailing out of Thessaloniki, you'll glide through the famous Corinth Canal towards Katakolon where you'll visit Olympia. The first Olympic torch was lit here nearly three thousand years ago and you can still see the marble starting blocks used in the earliest races. You'll move on to Crete where rustic tavernas and hidden coves vie for your attention. It's a real taste of authentic Greece, as is your next stop, Santorini. Here dinky white towns and blue-domed churches teeter on the edge of a flooded volcano crater. Next comes Piraeus, your key to the capital. Named after Greek goddess and city guardian, Athena, this city has a list of sights to rival Rome. And finally, before you return to Thessaloniki, you'll set sail for Skiathos. Covered in a patchwork of pine forests, walnut groves and vineyards, this pretty island is home to 60 stretches of golden sand. And legend has is that Jason and the Argonauts stopped here on their way to capture the Golden Fleece.
