A spectacular overview to a diverse range of animals and scenery with a high standard of accommodation. This actionpacked tour brings you the best of Kenyas main safari circuits. Day 1 Nairobi Begin with your arrival in Nairobi, a short internal flight from Mombasa, and spend the night at the Stanley Hotel. Day 2 Samburu Drive to the Samburu and Shaba Game Reserves for an encounter with birds and beasts in all shapes and sizes. Theres an afternoon game drive in Shaba where you should spot rare reticulated giraffes, elephants hosing each other down on the riverbank, and prides of lions lazing in the sun. Thats not to mention zebra, buffalo, leopard and cheetah. Accommodation tonight is Sarova Shaba Lodge or similar. About 415km. Day 3 Today its fascinating Samburu. Keep your eyes peeled for crocodiles on the banks of the Uaso Ngiro or the eyes of curious hippos peering from the water. Make sure your binoculars are ready for roaming gerenuk, long-necked antelope that wander the acacia woodlands. Your accommodation for the night is Sarova Shaba Lodge or similar again. About 250km. Day 4 Outspan and Treetops Up bright and early, youll set off for Nyeri for the next leg of your adventure. Youll have lunch at Outspan Hotel before we whisk you off to the world famous Treetops. Loved by everyone, from royalty to the rich and famous, no trip to Kenya is complete without a visit to Africas original tree lodge, which gazes out on a watering hole in Aberdares National Park. Enjoy a tasty dinner and keep an eye out for wandering wildlife from the comfort of the lodge terrace. Theres an overnight stay here, but remember you can only take a small bag to Treetops. The rest of your luggage will be safely locked away at Outspan, about 270km Day 5 Great Rift Valley - Lake Nakuru and Naivasha Today youre off to the Great Rift Valley, taking in the spectacular Nyaharuru Falls, formerly known as Thomsons Falls, along the way. Kenyas most incredible geological phenomenon is a huge fault in the earths surface created around 20 million years ago by a series of cataclysmic volcanic events. Its a haven for colourful birds and youll embark on a game drive looking out for the many different species. Lunch is at Lake Nakuru, a honey pot for thousands of flamingos that turn the shallow waters pink. Your home for the night is Sarova Lion Hill or similar, about 248km Day 6 Masai Mara This morning youll head for the Masai Mara Game Reserve with the chance of game drives along the way. The Masai Mara is the Kenyan section of the Serengeti plain and the most famous of all Kenyas game parks. Its home to more than 22 prides of lions and 3,000 elephants sharing the savannah landscape with zebra, rhino, cheetah and leopards. Youll spend 2 nights at the Mara Sarova Tented Lodge or similar. About 255km Day 7 Masai Mara Today youll enjoy an unforgettable day of game drives on the famous Mara plains, looking out for large herds of zebra, wildebeest and gazelle, among others. Game concentrations are at their greatest from around July to the end of October. Day 8 Mombasa An early morning game drive kickstarts the day - a great chance to take a few pictures of any creatures you may have missed. Afterwards, youll drive to Nairobi for your flight to Mombasa. Here, well take you to your chosen beach hotel for your seven night stay. about 280km. Please Note: Prices are based on two people sharing on a full board basis on safari. See your hotel description for board arrangements in Mombasa. This safari departs upon arrival at Mombasa airport so you will need to have your bag packed ready. Locked luggage can be stored at your coastal hotel. Single rooms are available upon request.
