They couldnt have picked a better spot for the Riu Montego Bay if they tried. Its cupped into Montego Bay, on a beach thats the epitome of Caribbean paradise. Cue caster sugar sands, swaying palms and crystal-clear seas. Plus its wrapped in ten acres of gorgeous tropical gardens. Its certainly easy on the eye: its whitewashed walls bring a modern flourish to the beachfront. But thats not to say it looks out of place. On the contrary, the pointy-roofed towers, cobbled walkways and railed balconies give it a touch of Colonial style. Sitting in the middle of all this is the pool. Large, lagoon-shaped and framed by sunbeds, its a real sun-trap. And theres a swim-up bar here, too. So you dont even have to get out of the water to get a drink. On the inside, the marble floors and dark wood furniture paint a picture of understated elegance. Theres more of the same in the bedrooms. Tiled floors, cream walls and ceiling fans are set off by tropical prints adding a hint of colour. Theyre simple, stylish and perfect for a siesta. Theres certainly plenty of choice on the restaurant front here. Theres an Asian eatery, a grill and steak house, and an Italian. Not to mention the international buffet. And its All Inclusive, too, so therell be no hefty à la carte bill at the end of your stay.
