Thomson Destinations despite our expertise in travel, it is impossible for us to predict what new taxes governments may impose or cost increases may arise due to world events. Naturally, the exact scale of these taxes or charges, the timing of their introduction and even the method of collection has not yet been decided and therefore it is not possible for us to include them in your holiday price at this time. If these charges are introduced after publication of this brochure we will have to include them as a supplement to our brochure prices. If you have already booked by the time they are introduced and these charges create an overall increase in our costs then it may result in an increase in the price of your holiday by way of a surcharge (see section 2 of Our Agreement for The Price You Pay). Room supplements Supplements may be applicable for single rooms, double beds, extra beds and room upgrades. The price for these may vary through the season, depending on whether your booking falls within Low (L), Mid (M) or High (H) season. The dates that apply to low, mid and high season vary by resort. Please see the relevant brochure price panel. Room facilities will be displayed during an on-line booking. If a single person occupies a double room they will usually be asked to pay extra (a single supplement). This is because hotels tend to price all their rooms as doubles or family rooms and they do not reduce the rates if it is occupied by a single person. The costs to the hotel of providing the room - heating, lighting, cleaning etc are the same regardless of how many people occupy that room. Single rooms are limited in availability and may be smaller than double or family rooms, but are normally priced on the same basis, irrespective of design or size. This also applies to self-catering units where, for example, three people may choose to occupy accommodation priced for four. We do not make additional or excessive profits from these supplements. The prices we charge reflect the costs of occupancy of the rooms contracted to us by the hotel. Meal supplements in hotels The standard meal arrangement for your holiday is shown in the brochure price panel or on-line. If you choose to add more meals, the extra cost for bed and breakfast, half or full board will also be shown. In some cases, you may be able to choose to take fewer meals, and that reduction will also be displayed. Extra charges in villas, apartments and studios If selecting your holiday from the brochure, prices are based on the number of adults sharing the standard type of apartment shown in the price panel (such as `studios for 2' or `apartments for 5' or `villa for 6'). The number shown is the maximum number of adults allowed to share. If fewer adults share the apartment (such as 4 sharing the `apartment for 5'), each adult must pay an extra charge which is shown in the price panel under occupancy supplements per adult per night. Where your chosen number of adults does not appear, contact your travel agent for the most up to date prices. The `prices from' are based on departures 1 May 14 May. If booking online, any applicable under-occupancy supplements will be calculated and added to your online holiday costing, dependent on the number of passengers travelling and the room type you select. Seasonal supplements (Low, Mid or High) are payable per night of your holiday. If, for example, your holiday departs in `Low' season, but crosses into `Mid' season, you will be charged a supplement calculated from the corresponding number of nights of your holiday that fall into each supplement band. Charges for optional extras (`Holiday Options') Charges for pre-bookable options, such as late check out rooms, are in addition to the basic cost of the holiday. Costs for children When working out how many adults will be sharing a room or apartment, any children paying the adult price count as adults. Children paying the `first and second child' prices in the price panel, or those qualifying for `free child places', do not count as adults. This is important when working out prices for apartments. Accommodation on tours and cruises Short notice changes of itinerary, hotel or ship may mean some facilities are not exactly as described. Compensation is not necessarily given for these changes. differences between accommodation that shares the same T rating category. This is where our T-plus rating can be a useful extra guide. A-Z Guide Thomson Price Commitment At Thomson we have built up a reputation for honesty. It's difficult to predict future developments which could affect the cost of your holiday - some things such as transportation charges and government actions are beyond our control - so we have no choice but to leave open the possibility of passing on increased charges to you after you have booked. Around ten weeks before you are due to travel we will send you a Final Invoice. Whatever happens, we guarantee that the price stated on any Final Invoice will not change unless you change your booking after it's issued. Thomson Premier benefits Thomson Premier benefits apply to Platinum, BeachClub, and A la Carte holidays taken on Thomsonfly charter flights with departures after 1st May 2008. In order to qualify for these benefits the booking must be taken a minimum of 14 days before departure. For all Thomson Premier holidays, included in your holiday price are: Increased baggage allowance: Each Thomson Premier passenger travelling with Thomsonfly has a 25kg limit on checked-in luggage, irrespective of the number of bags checked in. Each passenger may take up to 10kg of hand luggage on board, although the combined total of hand and checked-in luggage may not exceed 30kg for each passenger without extra weight charges being levied. Thomson Premier customers travelling on flights other than Thomsonfly are not eligible for extra luggage allowance benefit. In the event that legal regulations change and a maximum checkedin baggage allowance are enforced, baggage allowance for these holidays will be reduced in line with the new regulations. Minimum Customer Scores: Customer Satisfaction Scores (see "Your Opinion") are used to determine if a property achieves the minimum score of 90% customers rating "excellent" or "good". A minimum of 25 customer satisfaction responses are deemed significant to rate a hotel. Where a hotel or apartments have less that 25 responses or is new for that season, a judgement has been taken using our expertise to establish if the quality of the property meets the requirements for our Premier range. UK Priority Check-In: Available at the Thomson Premium checkin desk, subject to availability and is only available at Gatwick, Manchester and Birmingham airports. Seating together: We will endeavour to seat your party together where possible but bookings within 4 weeks of departure may result in loss of this benefit. All seating options are subject to availability on the flight. We are unable to guarantee seating together where a 3rd party flight or Thomsonfly scheduled allocation is utilised. See "Holiday Options" for details on restrictions. Complimentary Drink & Headphones: Complimentary drink and headphones are only applicable on your departure flight from the UK and can be claimed via use of the vouchers provided in your ticket book - you must ensure these are packed in your hand luggage and presented to the Thomsonfly air steward to claim these items. A limited number of scheduled Thomsonfly aircraft (737-300, 737500 & 737-800) do not have entertainment services and therefore headphones will not be provided on these services. Hotel porterage: Porterage from the hotel reception to your room is guaranteed at all A la Carte hotels, except in Florida. Fresh fruit or flowers and wine: A la Carte guests will receive fresh fruit or flowers and wine free of charge on arrival. Please note that this service may not be available in the second half of a twin centre holiday. Weather Watch The Caribbean, Gulf of Mexico and many areas of Southeast Asia are occasionally affected by tropical storms and hurricanes between June and November (Caribbean) or May to October (Southeast Asia). Such storms can blow up quickly, and it is impossible to predict their path or duration more than three or four days in advance, often less. If a storm is forecast for one of our holiday destinations, we take advice from local and international experts, including our own Health & Safety and Resort staff. Depending upon their recommendations, we may decide to change or cancel all or part of your holiday or cruise (including flights), if your safety and comfort will be better cared for by the change or cancellation. This may include a holiday starting after the storm has passed your destination, because your accommodation, the resort airport, or the port has been damaged by the storm. You should be aware that `Our Agreement' allows us to do this without obliging us to pay you compensation. Please see the `Important note - events beyond our control' that applies to both sections 3 and 4 of Our Agreement - `If we cancel your holiday' and `If we change your holiday'.
