Day 1
On arrival in the Maldives, you'll check in for your flight to Columbo in Sri Lanka. After touchdown here, you'll be transferred to the Brown Beach Hotel in Negombo where the rest of the day will be at leisure. You'll enjoy dinner here and stay overnight.
Day 2
After breakfast, we'll set off for Habarana, stopping off for lunch along the way in Chaya Village. Then it's off to see Dambulla Temple, which is a World Heritage Site. It's Sri Lanka's most impressive cave temple with statues of Buddha and Hindu gods, painted ceilings and the piece de resistance - a colossal Buddha carved out of rock. Afterwards, it's back to Chaya Village, Habarana for dinner and an overnight stay.
Day 3
After breakfast, we'll head to Polonnaruwa, a World Heritage Site. Here, you'll clap eyes on the ruins of the Royal Palace and the four Buddha statues of Gil Viharaya which are carved into the rock face. You'll also see the Audience Hall and Lotus Bath as well as the Pakrajama Samudraya Lake, and famous places of worship. Lunch is at the Deer Park Hotel in Giritale before we make our way to Sigiriya. Here, you'll climb the 5th century World Heritage Site of Sigiriya rock fortress. Dinner and overnight stay at Chaya Village, Habarana.
