1. palma Cathedral
palma Cathedral
palma's centrepiece is its gothic cathedral. All pinnacles and flying buttresses, it's the jewel of the old town, standing guard over the harbour. Work began on the masterpiece in the 13th century and carried on for 400 years. Check out the incredible rose window made from 1,236 pieces of stained glass.
2. Soller railway
Cala Millor
This is no ordinary train journey. every year, more than a million people hop aboard this 1920s electric train bound for Soller, a pretty little village on the north western coast. The vintage train ride, which lasts around 90 minutes, has become Majorca's most popular attraction thanks to the countryside views it offers up along the way.
3. Marineland Majorca
With residents including dolphins, crocs and sharks, this award-winning park makes for a great family day out. There's a huge parrot aviary, too. And don't forget to pay the flamingos and penguins a visit. Best of all, you'll find a sandy beach close by, perfect for a cool-down swim at lunchtime.

The average annual temperature for Majorca rests around the 18°C mark, but in summer the island has no problem notching up temperatures of around 31°C. even the sea gets in on the act, with surface temperatures hitting 26°C in August.
4. Caves of Drach
Mother nature did herself proud with this place. These four chambers burrow into limestone cliffs for about two kilometres, and, inside, you'll find lake Martel one of the biggest underground lakes in the world. For the best views, take a boat ride on the lake and drift through the water, wrapped in a cocoon of stalactites and stalagmites.

Acrobatics, dancing and laugh-`til-you-cry comedy that's what's on the agenda when you sign up for pirates Adventure, a dinner show just outside Magaluf. Throw in a buccaneers' feast and you're all set for a great night out. This one is aimed at families, but if you want to take things up a notch, there's the pirates Uncut show.
