Kalithea
Location 15km south of Rhodes Town Transfer time 1 hour to 1 hour 30 minutes Kalithea has evolved from the large luxury hotels that sprung up along the road linking Falaraki and Kalithea Spa. Although there is no real centre, night times can be spent wandering between the many bars and restaurants or enjoying the entertainment in the larger hotels. If you fancy a day of excitement then you could not be better located for the large waterpark situated in the resort. Falaraki and its renowned nightlife is a short taxi ride away, as is the capital Rhodes Town with all its history and culture.

Kolymbia
Location 26km south of Rhodes Town Transfer time 45 minutes to 1 hour Kolymbia lies on the northeast coast of the island of Rhodes and is ideal for those seeking a quiet spot in which to relax and soak up the sun. Popular with an international clientele, it enjoys a picturesque setting with the imposing mountain of Tsambika in the distance and the Epta Piges (Seven Springs) located close by. In Kolymbia itself, you will find a magnificent beach - ideal for swimming and watersports, and there is an 18-hole golf course located in Afandou, 8km away. Kolymbia is a Greek resort that remains largely undiscovered and as such is quiet all year round. It does offer a good range of sporting activities, a few shops and restaurants and a good selection of bars.
Lindos
Location 56km southwest of Rhodes Town Transfer time 2 hours Visiting Lindos is like walking into a painting. Brilliant white houses climb the hill from the bay to the clifftop ruins of the acropolis, affording - literally - breathtaking views. The prettiest village on the island, it is the focus of millions of photographs. Previously inhabited by Romans, Byzantines, Turks and Italians, a delicious melange of influences, indicated by the acropolis, the medieval walls, the tiny, cobbled streets and the architecture can be admired. A Greek national treasure, the only methods of transportation are motorbikes and donkeys. As the resort is completely surrounded by hills, July and August tend to be notably hotter than elsewhere on the island..
Pefkos/Lardos
Location about 60km south of Rhodes Town Transfer time About 2 hours Off the beaten track. Far from the madding crowd. Away-from-it-all. Clichéd it might be, but this peaceful pocket of Rhodes is about as far as you can get from the beehive buzz of a busy town. Once a tiny fishing village, Pefkos has grown into a picturesque paradise for the discerning holidaymaker. Laid-back and lovely, this beach holiday haven has kept to its roots and its off-the-tourist-trail charm is still intact. But that's not to say it's cut off it's slap-bang in between Lindos and Lardos. Like Pefkos, Lardos has lost none of its old world appeal. From the Italian-style fountain in the square to the soft shingle beach, this place is all about living the serene holiday dream. Pefkos and Lardos are hilly resorts, so not recommended for less mobile guests.
Trianda/Ixia/Rhodes Town
Location 8-12km from Paradisi (Rhodes Airport) Transfer time 1 hour to 1 hour 30 minutes Trianda has a good selection of hotels and apartments, all close to the resort centre. It's a 10-minute walk to the old village which retains its traditional charm, or to a pebble and shingle beach, lapped by the beautiful clear Aegean. Ixia is more of a modern, purpose-built tourist centre that's very popular in high summer. The pebble and shingle beach is two kilometres long and unsuitable for children, although there's windsurfing at all levels. When it comes to dining out, Ixia has plenty to choose from with around 25 restaurants and several bars. A vibrant city, steeped in history, Rhodes Town is the best location on the island if you want to experience the complete mixture of the old and the new and it now thrives on innumerable boutiques, cafés and plentiful restaurants.
