The Golden Bahia has a loyal fan base. It draws guests back year after year for two simple reasons - it's really well run and in terms of facilities, it's got the lot. Tucked on the outskirts of Tossa de Mar, it's a short walk from the castle and some great cliffside pathways. And it's also a ten-minute stroll to the beach and cobbled centre with its tapas bars. As for the hotel itself, the foyer is rather impressive. It's all glossy white marble with mezzanine levels draped with hanging plants. The heart of the hotel is its expansive main terrace. Speckled with palms, it runs down to the sports area, where there's a football pitch and dinky minigolf course. Set in to the terrace is a lagoon pool, together with matching whirlpools and a children's pool. And behind the parasols is a bistro-style restaurant terrace for lunchtime snacks. On top of all this - quite literally - there's a roof garden with a nudist section and solarium. The food deserves a special mention as well. The buffets are fresh and varied, with breakfast omelettes and other hot dishes cooked on the spot. And at dinner, expect the full works - tasty paellas and home-from-home dishes accompanied by plentiful fresh fruit, salads and desserts.
