Made up of just a handful of studios and one and two-bedroom apartments, it could never be accused of being anything other than small and friendly. Inside, the accommodation has been styled in a low-key, homely fashion with a traditional feel. Terracotta tiled floors and whitewashed walls provide the background for dark-wood furniture, woven rugs and comfy sofas and chairs. Whether you opt for a studio or a two-bedroom apartment you'll get the same amenities, so expect an open-plan lounge-come-dining room, a kitchenette and a balcony or terrace, too. Outside, there's a decent-sized rectangular swimming pool set into a terrace. It's all fringed by little pockets of greenery and a clutch of sun loungers and parasols, so it makes for a nice and laid-back setting. Lastly, there's the location. This place is set in a residential area on the outskirts of Funchal. There's a bus stop nearby which has routes into town - it takes about fifteen minutes. Fans of the auld game are also in luck � the Palheiro 18-hole golf course is just a ten minute drive away.
