Sa Coma/Cala Bona/Cala Millor
Location On the east coast, approximately 60km from Palma Transfer time 1 hour to 2 hours 30 minutes Sa Coma has a very international feel and is perhaps the most modern resort on Majorca's eastern shores. Its amenities are more emphatically directed towards the family holiday and the surrounding area offers both tennis and cycling as well as a host of other activities. Holidaymakers of all nationalities enjoy splashing about on Cala Bona's small beaches. When the sun sets, head for one of the many bars or restaurants. Like its neighbours, Cala Bona is quieter in spring and late summer and life is never too vigorous, even in high season. Cala Millor is a diverse resort with much to offer to all visitors and the beach here is particularly suitable for families.

Cala d'Or/Calas de Majorca
Location On the south east coast, approximately 45km from Palma Transfer time 1 hour Cala d'Or, situated on the southeastern coast, in Majorca's riviera, is the sort of place where you will feel like ordering cappuccino instead of filter coffee and champagne instead of wine. The elegance of the gleaming yachts swaying in the refreshing sea breeze of the marina only adds to the area's sophisticated charm. Calas de Majorca is a modern, self-contained resort with a spectacular setting, notable for the fine views from the lofty path clinging to the cliffs. It is located on the southeast coast of the island, only 45 kilometres from Palma. Playa Domingo is the main beach, or you can dip into one of the delightful small sandy coves nearby.

Palma Nova/Magaluf/Camp de Mar/Santa Ponsa
Location On the southwest coast, 15 - 30km from Palma Transfer time 45 minutes to - 1 hour 15 minutes Popular, friendly Palma Nova is a great choice for an active family holiday. Its safe, sandy beaches are well kept with plenty of watersports, and there are scores of shops, bars and restaurants. Magaluf has everything - from fashionable shops to fantastic sights. It's the perfect resort for those who want fun, sun and to party till dawn. By contrast, the resort of Camp de Mar on the western side of Majorca is surrounded by beautiful scenery. Although expanding, it still remains very much unspoilt with a quiet, sheltered beach of golden sand. Santa Ponsa has grown in and around a wide and deeply recessed bay, edged by pines and sun-bleached sands; the large main beach, is popular with both holidaymakers and locals, but there is a smaller, quieter beach to the south.

Puerto Pollensa/Alcudia/Ca'n Picafort
Location On the north coast, 45km from Palma Transfer time 1 hour to 1 hour 30 minutes Alcudia lies in a large bay boasting a superb beach flanked by a range of amenities geared to holidaymakers. Ca'n Picafort is situated on a marvellous stretch of golden sand, ideal for relaxing. Originally a small fishing village, the working harbour is still a focal point of the town, with restaurants, bars, shops and nautical day trips on offer. Puerto Pollensa curves around a magnificent bay with a backdrop of the Sierra Traumontana mountains. It's an ideal base for exploring the villages and sights of north Majorca. Where its neighbours have gone all out to attract the mainstream tourist, Puerto Pollensa's fans - mostly couples and families with older children - appreciate that it has retained its natural beaches of sand and pebbles, and resisted the temptation of discos and nightclubs. Instead, the ambience here is relaxed and charming.
