This afternoon, we arrive in the provincial capital of British Columbia, and probably its most British city, Victoria. Our afternoon is free to explore its shops and perhaps some of the colonial heritage, such as the Legislative Building and the Empress Hotel or take the opportunity to visit the world famous Butchart Gardens.

A final day at sea as we cruise south along the northwest coast of America, once more relaxing and enjoying the splendid facilities onboard.

An early morning arrival in San Francisco where we disembark and join our coach for an orientation tour of this remarkably compact city, with its myriad attractions including the Golden Gate Bridge, fashionable Nob Hill and the Italian Quarter. After free time for lunch we head to San Francisco's East Bay before reaching Lafayette and our hotel for the next two nights, the Lafayette Park Hotel and Spa.

A leisurely day to enjoy your surroundings or head for downtown San Francisco, the choice is yours! You may wish to take a boat trip from Fisherman's Wharf which will take you to the Golden Gate Bridge and the notorious prison Alcatraz. The Alcatraz Island offers a fascinating and close-up look at the historic and infamous federal prison where visitors can not only explore the remnants of the prison but also learn about Native American occupation and early military fortifications. On Union Square you can sample some of America's finest shops and department stores such as Macy's and Saks Fifth Avenue. Maybe a visit to Chinatown, the largest of its kind in the United States or board one of the famous trams giving you views across the city down to the famous Bay. Pier 39 is recommended, with over 110 speciality shops and street entertainers in a delightful waterfront setting.
