Our journey of discovery begins in ancient Thebes, once the powerhouse of the Pharaohs and from where they ruled these historic lands. Spend seven nights meandering down the River Nile to Aswan whilst visiting all the major sights at a relaxed pace. Fly to Cairo and enjoy three nights at the 5 star Movenpick Pyramids Resort Hotel, located close to all the main attractions. There are many optional excursions available, enabling you to explore the historic sites at your own pace.
ITINERARY - DAY 1 Depart London Heathrow on a scheduled flight direct to Luxor. (D) " 5 star resort hotel in Giza close to Pyramids DAY 2 Morning visit to the extensive Valley of the Kings - famous site of Tutankhamun's tomb. " 5 star vessel on full board basis Also discover the mortuary temple of Queen " All cabins have 'step-on' balconies Hatshepsut and Colossi of Memnon. Sail to " Private moorings in Luxor & Aswan Esna for overnight. (B,L,D) DAY 3 Sail to Edfu. " Abu Simbel optional visit Visit the temple of Edfu. Sail to Kom Ombo and " Expert guides and Egyptologists visit the unique temple there. Sail to Aswan and overnight. (B,L,D) DAY 4 Morning excursion to the High Dam and by boat to the Temple of Philae. Afternoon Felucca ride on Nile. Dinner and overnight. (B,L,D) DAY 5 Morning free in Aswan, perhaps enjoy one of the optional excursions available locally, such as the Nubian Village. Alternatively take an optional excursion by air to Abu Simbel - one of the most amazing ancient sites (bookable prior to departure). (B,L,D) DAY 6 A leisurely day. Afternoon sail back Kom Ombo and Edfu for overnight. (B,L,D) DAY 7 Sail to Luxor arriving late afternoon for free time. Optional evening performance of the Sound & Light Show at the Luxor and Karnak Temples. (B,L,D) DAY 8 Morning visit to the Karnak and Luxor Temples. Transfer to Luxor Airport for flight to Cairo. Transfer to the 5 star Movenpick Pyramids Resort Hotel, Giza for your three-night stay. (B) DAY 9 Optional half day guided tour of the magnificent Pyramids and Sphinx . Chance for an evening visit to the famous Sound and Light show . (B) DAY 10 Optional half day visit to the Egyptian Museum, Cairo - arguably one of the most fascinating museums in the world, which holds uncountable riches including the burial treasures of the young Pharaoh Tutankhamun.
